The chairman of the organising committee for next year’s Pacific Mini Games in Vanuatu is calling on the new government to engage with him and his team immediately, so that funds for the event can be released as soon as possible.

Preparations for the Games have been hampered first by Cyclone Pam, and then by government stagnation in the midst of the corruption crisis last year.

The Pacific Games Council is due to visit Port Vila for a progress update in May, and the organisers are keen to have something positive to show them.

Games Chairman Mark Stafford says despite the many setbacks and a lack of facilities at the present time, everything will be ready once the Games roll around.
